Friendship Pair - Alex & Sarah

We’d like to introduce you to our newest friendship pair, Alex & Sarah!

Alex is one of New Beginnings’ newest student scholars, attending classes at San Diego City College. Sarah is a New Beginnings volunteer who we matched with Alex through Lucky Duck Foundation’s Be A Friend - Impact A Life program.

Be A Friend - Impact A Life trains volunteer community members in how to walk alongside an individual experiencing housing insecurity in friendship. We give the volunteer the tools they need to help them get to know their friend and to help their friend set goals and envision a future they desire. Over 12 months, this Journey of Friendship will transform both the volunteer and the friend and create pathways that help the individual break cycles of poverty and homelessness for good.
